Anks' first Vale appearance was in the late 1970s for the fifth team. His early influences at the club were Sam Hodgson and Mike Kirby. He has captained the 'B' Team and has lost count of the number of tours he has been on. He holds the record for the most adult appearances for a Vale player.
Best Rugby moment: Opening the scoring on tour in Canada.
