We are Laura & Sam and would like to introduce ourselves as the new Mini & Junior Membership Secretaries, having taken over the role from the wonderful Becky Higson. We hope everyone is having a great summer break from the rugby season, despite the weather, and looking forward to the new season ahead.

It’s that time of year where we are preparing for the new season ahead and RFU Age Grade Registration (known as GMS) must be completed by all playing members. The membership payments are now also live on our Vale website. We must stress those with early season games must be registered with the RFU before they can play so please ensure to do this sooner rather than later!

Registration is a TWO part process, and both parts must be completed before playing at the Vale of Lune RUFC can take place.

STEP 1 - MEMBERSHIP FEES
Please check all options and select the best membership package for your family. Please note this season there is also an option for monthly payments which may ease the burden for many families. Membership fees must be paid by October 2024. While we want every child to have the opportunity to play rugby, we will operate a strict no pay no pay policy. However, if you do have any financial concerns about membership please contact us directly in confidence so we can discuss.

Please note NO membership payments should be made on GMS only via Pitchero.

Can parents also please log on to your Pitchero accounts and ensure you and your child's/children's details are correct? We have some parents selected as players for the mini & junior teams, and some children's details not present.

STEP 2 - GAME MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (GMS) - PLAYER RE-REGISTRATION

All Mini and Junior players MUST be registered on the RFU’s GMS System. This is now an annual process to ensure all data is up to date.

FOR EXISTING PLAYERS (UNDER 8's AND ABOVE)

All registered players last year should have received an email back in early July from the RFU asking you to reregister. If you haven't done this already please follow the instructions below:

Use the “forgotten password” facility if required.

Then follow the steps or Guidance HERE:

In the rare case your player is not linked to the club (i.e. a club is not showing on the registration page) please email

FOR NEW PLAYERS (UNDER 7'S AND NEW MEMBERS) - PARENT OR GUARDIAN must make an account then link the player Access the GMS System using THIS LINK:

Click the CREATE AN ACCOUNT link on that page Fill in the PARENT OR GUARDIAN DETAILS You need a valid e-mail address.
Once complete you’ll need to check your e-mail for the VALIDATION link. Check SPAM (it may take an hour or so).
Once you have validated your e-mail, return to the GMS login screen (LINK) - you may automatically be logged in In the GREEN BOX at the top, you can ADD A FAMILY MEMBER Complete the PLAYERS details Finally click the REGISTER A NEW CLUB In the Green Box In the second box (Club where Registration Will Apply) click the + box You can either SEARCH for Vale of Lune RUFC, click the TICK next to the club name.

That’s it - you’re all set!

Please note failure to register with the GMS may result in your child NOT being covered by RFU Insurance and not being able to take part in matches. Please complete the GMS process EVEN if you are on a trial and haven’t yet paid your membership fees.

Don't forget that Registration Day is Sunday 15th September. This is simply to allow parents that have any questions or concerns about registration, to speak with us and the Team Admins. O'Neills will also be here on the day with samples of all their leisurewear with a variety of sizes. Purchases cannot be made on the day, but there will be the opportunity to place discounted orders.

Sorry for the long article but it's really important that all members are registered fully both with the Vale of Lune and the RFU.
